August Player of the Month Candidates

August Player of the Month (candidates)

City may not have started the season at their very best, but at least that means only things can get better. We've collected 7 points from 3 without breaking walking pace; the sign of Champions if you ask me!

Here are my three candidates for City's player of the month.

Carlos Tevez

City fans may have been complaining about a lack of activity in the transfer window before our deadline day dealings; I think we forgot about a certain Argentine.

Fans may not have been too welcoming to the man who abandoned us to play golf, but we can't help but love him. He's a goal machine who can single-handedly win you a game and he has shown that already this season.

With 3 goals in 3 games and an assist to go with them, the rejuvenated Boca boy has pulled City through some tough games, especially without the help of star man Aguero.

Yaya Toure

The big Ivorian is tipped to be City's star man this year after a storming end to last season. He's fast, powerful and can defend and attack, making him one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment.

He may look lethargic at times but he is always a major threat in and around the box for the Blues. With 2 goals in 2 games he is getting an appetite for scoring and will be sorely missed when he departs for the African Cup of Nations after Christmas.

Pablo Zabaleta

Zaba is every City fans unsung hero. He gives 200% every single game and never complains about being left out of the side. Added to that, he's an extremely good player who gets up and down the wings better than most defenders in the league.

With Richards out, the hard working Argentine has a perfect opportunity to stake his claim for the first team and is doing a mighty good job of it at the moment. Maicon and Micah may be easier on the eye, but they won't find it easy to replace him at the moment.
